About Regent
Regent Upholstery is built upon three generations of knowledge, know-how, methods, and experience in the trade.
Our family’s story began in Massachusetts in 1945, following World War II. Our grandfather, originally from New Bedford, and our grandmother, originally from Alabama, made their home in Milton while operating their business in Dorchester and throughout Boston.

What began as a cleaning company gradually developed into Venetian-blind cleaning and repair, the fabrication of traditional two-inch aluminum blinds, and eventually commercial draperies and window furnishings. By the 1970s, the family had built a substantial commercial operation serving businesses throughout the Boston area.

The next generation expanded the company’s residential division, creating dedicated workrooms for custom upholstery and hard window treatments, as well as soft window treatments such as draperies, valances, Roman shades, and more.

Our grandfather never looked for ways to make a cheaper couch, a cheaper drape, or a cheaper upholstery job. He always looked for ways to make each one better—designed, engineered, and crafted to last for generations. That principle remains at the heart of Regent.

Our work is rooted in relationships—not simply sales. We are equally proud to serve members of the design trade and homeowners who entrust us with the furnishings that make their spaces personal. Whether restoring a cherished family piece or creating something entirely new, every project receives the same care, respect, and attention to detail.

Three generations later, we remain honored to continue what was started in 1945—preserving the traditions that matter while bringing creativity, technical knowledge, and uncompromising quality to everything we make.

Regent Upholstery and DraperyCreators of Fine Upholstery & Window Furnishings Since 1945
Today, the third generation proudly continues that tradition, bringing more than four decades of personal experience to the trade.
Each of our craftsmen brings decades of hands-on experience, knowledge, and problem-solving ability to every project. Some have worked alongside our family for 31 years, and others for 27. Together, they carry forward the old-world workmanship that is central to our tradition.

At Regent, everything begins with thoughtful design and sound engineering. We carefully evaluate every frame, fabric, pattern, cushion, lining, and construction detail before beginning the work.

We use only top-quality products and materials for reupholstery, custom furniture, and custom window furnishings. We do not charge extra for premium materials, reinforced stitching, or pattern matching. These are part of an exceptional job, and exceptional workmanship is our standard.
